Dear Parishioners,
Our school is an important ministry of our parish, and so I would like to share an update regarding the leadership of Nativity of Mary School.
Our Principal, Sarah Hickel, has informed me of her decision to step down from her role. After prayerful consideration, Sarah has discerned that she would like to return to the classroom and hopes to continue serving within one of our Archdiocesan schools. I want to take a moment to thank Sarah for her service to our school community during her time at Nativity of Mary. We keep her in our prayers and ask God’s blessings upon her.
I am pleased to share that Rebecca Kasallis will continue serving as Assistant Principal. Rebecca’s experience, commitment, and steady leadership will provide important continuity for our school community throughout this transition.
In the coming weeks, I will be working closely with the Office for the Mission of Catholic Education in the Archdiocese to appoint an Interim Principal who will partner with Rebecca, our faculty and staff, and parish leadership to ensure a successful beginning to the new school year. Later this fall, we will begin a comprehensive search for the next permanent Principal of Nativity of Mary School.
I ask our entire parish family to keep this process in your prayers. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will guide us to a faithfilled, mission-driven leader who will continue to strengthen our school’s commitment to academic excellence and Catholic formation. I also ask you to pray for our faculty, staff, students, and families as they prepare for another school year.
This leadership transition will naturally bring change, but it also offers an opportunity to renew our commitment to the mission of Catholic education. I have great confidence in our dedicated faculty, staff, and leadership team, and I know that, with God’s grace, Nativity of Mary School will continue to flourish as a place where students grow in faith and knowledge.
