Faith Formation Volunteering

Each of us gifted by God with unique talents, skills, abilities, interests and life experiences. Volunteering these gifts in our parish ministries helps us carry out and live our mission of Making Jesus Christ Known and Loved. Please explore the links below and learn more about the wide variety of ministries and volunteer opportunities offered by Nativity of Mary Catholic Church & School. Faith Formation Ministries

Continuing Adult Faith Formation Leader - Facilitate a group of parishioners through a structured faith education program. Materials, mentoring and organizational assistance provided. Please contact Jacob Hornecker for more information.

Religious Education Catechists - Plan lessons based on textbook and Scriptural materials. Work with any grade, 1-8, Wednesday evenings, September-April. Training provided. To learn more, please contact the parish office at (952)881-8671.

The 31 Club is a “club” with no meetings or dues, simply pick a date of the month and offer Mass, Adoration or other prayers on that day especially for vocations. Both the Diocesan Vocation Office and Serra Clubs provide materials for the Team. For more info, please contact the Parish Office.

Vacation Bible School Volunteer - Week-long summer program for children requires volunteers (adults and teens) to lead activities, supervise children (PreK-5), acquire materials, decorate, set up/tear down and more. 

Vocations Committee - The Mission of the Vocation Team is to promote a culture of vocations in the parish. The group coordinates celebrations of the main vocation events of the liturgical year: Priesthood Sunday, Vocations Awareness Week, World Day for Consecrated Life and World Day of Prayer for Vocations.

Ways to pray for vocations used by the Team include the Traveling Crucifix, which is in a kit containing prayers and other aids focusing on vocations and prayer. Children are encouraged to pray to know their vocation through the Traveling Crucifix program in the school (Vocations include priesthood, consecrated life, marriage and the single life.  God has a vocation for everyone of us). 

Voice of the Good Shepherd (Children's Liturgy of the Word) - Use readings and supplementary materials to help children understand Sunday's Scriptures. 10:30 AM Mass, rotating schedule. 

Youth Group Leaders/Chaperones, Core Team Members, and Volunteers -  Plan and coordinate yearly events for grades 6-12 Youth Ministry program. Assist small groups, chaperone for service projects and special events. Please contact Jacob Hornecker for more information.
