Pastor's Note: Update on Campus Security

Dear Parishioners,

I would like to share an important update regarding recent security improvements to our parish campus. As some of you may recall, this past summer we experienced the unfortunate theft of our weekend collection bags. In response, we immediately had the safe rekeyed and began the process of working with the Archdiocese and our insurance carrier to strengthen our money-handling and counting procedures. We also filed a report with the Bloomington Police Department. Unfortunately, the investigation has, to date, not produced any leads.

One of the primary challenges during the investigation has been the lack of security camera coverage on the church side of our campus. By contrast, our school facilities are already well protected thanks to the generous support of the 2023 Spirit of Spring fundraiser, which provided a comprehensive security camera network.

To help ensure the church side matched the strong security measures already in place at the school, several parishioners generously came forward earlier this fall to fund the expansion of our security system. Through their generosity, we have now installed additional cameras – enhancing both visible and behind-the-scenes layers of protection.

With these upgrades complete, our entire campus now benefits from an integrated security camera system designed to provide a safer environment for all who worship, learn, and serve here. I am deeply grateful to those who made these improvements possible, and to all who continue to support our parish through prayer, stewardship, and trust.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Bill Duffert
