Pancake Breakfast: Sunday, September 8

The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a pancake breakfast on Sunday Sept 8th at the Bloomington Event Center (formerly the KC hall) from 8:30 to noon.   All proceeds are used to purchase coats for the kids. It is a free will offering.   The following will receive these coats:  Blessed Trinity School, Kennedy high school, Valley View middle school, Risen Christ school, Harriet Tubman and Nativity of Mary school.    

 

Lecture Program: Thursday, September 12

The Lecturer program speaker on Thursday, September 12, 2024, after the Knights of Columbus business meeting about, 8:00 – 8:15 p.m, will be Sr. Leann Luecke of the Sisters of Pro Ecclesia Sancta. Sister Leann has been a sister for 10 years now and has been serving in the Twin Cities for more than 5 years. This time has been spent in a variety of ministries including evangelization through the media, parish and school ministry, and leading small groups and in their lay movement.  The Knights of Columbus have played a very important role in collaborating with the mission the Lord has entrusted to it at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Convent and in the metro area.  Sister Leann is looking forward to sharing with the Knights the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and why this devotion is so important. Members, spouses and/or significant others and guests are welcome for our Lecturers programs.

 

New Grand Knight of Marian Council 3827: Tom Wenisch

Tom Wenisch is the new Grand Knight of Marian Council 3827 of the Knights of Columbus. He joined the Knights of Columbus in 2014 and worked his way through the Grand Knight of the Third Degree to this year's Grand Knight.  He will continue the projects such as: Flag Day, Volunteer Appreciation, the Pancake Breakfast for the Coats for Kids, the Samaritans Spaghetti Dinner the Fish Frys, and the Tootsie Roll drive.  He also is very involved with the soccer and free throw challenges.  He and his wife. Molly, who have two daughters, are active at St. Edwards church where he is an Usher and she is a Trustee.  During his professional life, Wenisch was in the Grocery Management business for 39 years, 28 with the Byerley's Food Company.
