Ways Your Generosity Can Touch Others

Beginning this weekend, our Angel Trees are standing in the Gathering Space and the north entrance of the Sanctuary. Each Angel on the tree represents one gift item in support of VEAP, helping others gain access to healthy foods, Tandum, a program to help mothers and children in crisis, along with the opportunity to purchase scrip cards to help support these two organizations.  You are invited to take one or more Angel(s) and
purchase the suggested items. Return your UNWRAPPED GIFT(s) WITH THE ANGEL FOR INDENTIFICATION to the church before and after weekend Masses or the parish office during business hours. Please note the angel color for each program and the deadline dates to return your gift(s).

**Information for the 2021 Angel Tree is still developing; check back for updates!!**

  • The PURPLE KENNEDY H.S. COMMUNITY ALLIANCE’S PANTRY Angel gifts will be used to assist teens with health & beauty products along with gift cards for food, often benefitting their entire family. All Kennedy Angels must be returned to Nativity by Sunday, December 12th.

The Pantry at Kennedy High School is one of the programs run by the Kennedy Community Alliance. At Kennedy they are on the front lines triaging a variety of issues as a result of couch hopping and families doubling up because of homelessness, transient living, death of family members, loss of employment, illness and underemployment. The mission of the Kennedy Community Alliance is to eliminate financial barriers that impact students’ academic, extracurricular and social success that is vital to the overall quality and success of the children. The Pantry is stocked with everyday essentials that most of us take for granted. Everything from personal care items, clothes, school supplies and gift cards to be used for food. The Pantry gets stocked in the summer but in a matter of months the shelves are bare.  Below are items that will restock the shelves:

    • Deodorant (Boys & Girls)

    • Body Wash (Boys & Girls)

    • Lotion (Boys & Girls)

    • Gift Cards—Cub, Walmart, Subway

  • The YELLOW VEAP Angel gifts will be used to provide non-perishable pantry items, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, and gift cards for local families in need. All VEAP Angels must be returned to Nativity by Sunday, December 12th.

VEAP is a basic needs and social services organization whose programs promote access to healthy foods, stable housing and other supportive services.  VEAP’s programs are designed to address a particular need and when used together provide hope and can help avoid a financial crisis such as loss of housing, transportation, or employment. Whether the hardship is from a disability, job transition, or the financial and physical stresses of
aging, VEAP has been helping our neighbors in need for 45 years.

  • The GREEN RESPECT LIFE Angel gifts will be used to stock the Tandem Pregnancy & Family Resource Center. This program provides basic supplies to mothers-to-be. All Respect Life Angels must be returned to Nativity by Sunday, December 12th.

  • The BLUE OUTREACH Angel gifts will be used in our own Nativity of Mary Outreach Assistance program, and uses gift card
donations to assist local families in need. All Outreach Angels must be returned to Nativity by Sunday, December 12th.

  • Angel Tree Gift Cards—Purchase through SCRIP
Support the Angel Tree while keeping safe during the pandemic!  This year we have an order form you can pick up near the bulletins or PRINT OFF HERE to purchase your Angel Tree Gift Cards through SCRIP. This helps someone in need, and our school at the same time!  You do not need to take an angel off the tree to participate in this way.  Simply fill out the form and mail it to the school office with your check.  You can also return the form in person to the offertory drop box at the North Entrance.  When the cards are delivered to the school the SCRIP coordinators will bring the cards directly to the parish office, along with your order form, so that the ministry you select will benefit. This is a great way to participate even if you are not yet attending Mass at the parish.
