A mirror whose center section curves away from an object

· Focal Point

The point at which light rays meet when reflected or refracted.

· Laser Light

Light of a single wavelength.

LESSON 3

· Electromagnetic Spectrum

The arrangement of electromagnetic waves in order of their frequency.

· Primary Colors of Light

Red, Green, & Blue.

· Opaque

Does not allow light to pass through.

· Transparent

Allows light to pass through sp that objects on the other side can be seen.

LESSON 4

· Compressional Wave:

A wave in which matter vibrates in the same direction as the energy waves traveling through it.

· Intensity:

A measure of the amount of energy in a wave.

· Decibal:

Units used to measure levels of sound intensity.

· Hertz:

Units used to measure the frequency of sound.

· Acoustics:

The qualities that determine the ability of a room or space to reflect sound waves in such a way as to produce distinct hearing..

· Sonar:

A device which uses sound waves to measure distance.

· Music:

Pleasant sound with regular patterns.

· Noise;

Sound with no regular wave pattern.

· Octave;

A musical sequence in which the top note has twice the frequency as the bottom note.

· Noise Pollution:

Produced by a wide variety of human activities and may include traffic rumble, heavy machinery, sirens, and even loud music.
